warm I husked corn all day after night

burned up a consciderable heap of fence

a sale at John Bars I got me an

Sun 20 Clear this morning quite cool I went

over to hear a new preacher preach

at Salem meeting house at 11 oclock

after night I went to H. Genings

Mon 21 Clear this morning with a frost on

quite cool I went to Bars after my ox

but dident get him. in the evening I

went to Erastus barness to get a wagon

Tue 22 Clear this morning Father u sold 11 head

of calvs to James Servisons and 16 head

of pigs for 4. 6. to be paid in five

monthes this makes four loads of corn 1839

Tue 11 Cloudy this morning and thunders some

in the west it has very much the appearance

of rain but dident it broke away and the

sun shoen out and turned quite warm in the

after noon it looked some like rain but soon

broke away and got clear and nice in the fore

noon I groubed breash in the after noon I

plowed my corn but very wet H. r L

Wed 12 Clear this morning and quite warm and

pleasant and nice it continued clear with the

exception of a few flying clouds till late in the

evening it rose a very dark cloud in the north

west after night it rained I made a mistake it

dident rain it only thundered and lightning

I plowed in the corn all day father and mother

went on a visit to Aarons Yarnalds 1839

Thu 13 Cloudy this morning and it rained some two

or three times the l sun shoen out of the time

it has some notion of continuing on I think

I plowed till in the evening then I quit father

helped me plow desperate cool for the season 183

Fri 14 Cloudy this morning and raining some it

has turned some cooler than it has been for

some considerable length of time it broke

away and got quite clear and pleasant I worked

on the road under Egbert Patterson he had

about twenty hands a working on the road

Sat 15 Clear this morning and quite pleasent it is

a few flying clouds over us quite warm I

plowed in my corn all day Mr. Green and

his companion cam out ond visit from town

I got my calf hom from Mr. Barneses 1839

Sun 16 Clear this morning and quite pleasent I

went down to Mr. Pattersons to meeting and then

hom and back to Mr. Gening to meeting at four

O clock then I went to Mr. barnards to meeting

frost it was quite windy all day I plowed

for corn oats thiir was a man painting

our chairs for sixteen pounds of bacon

Thu 18 Clear this morning with a heavy

frost it is quite warm to what it was

the or or three days back I finished

sowing oats I hot four bushels of dhoar

Mendenhall at 25 cts per bushe..

Fri 19 Cloudy this morning the sun shoen out

dimley some cooler in the evening it got

cloudy and had the appearance of rain

I went out to see my oats and wheat

and then to Salem meeting house to

hear Mr. Wood preach in the after

I went to it and got home just at dark

Sun 7 Clear this morning and quite warm

in the morning I went to quarterly

meeting held by the United Brethren

at the school house in the naighbor hood

of Mr. Barnerds their was consderable

of a congragation out at it they held

their publick preaching at the camp

ground in the evening it clouded up

and looked like rain it rained some

at dark I went to evening meeting after

meeting I came home along with Samul

Pulver and his wife I mever saw as

dark a night in my life I got home

at twelve oclock it began to sprinkle

then it has been for some time it

broke away and got some warmer we

finished sowing oats in hunts field in

the evening it clouded up and looked

like rain in the after noon I began

to sow oats in our field for my self

Tue 9 Cloudy this morning and rained some

it broke away nearly noon the sun

shoen out nice and warm I sold my

cow for fourteen Dollars to Mr. Barnes

James graves brought our waggon home

Father went to get his loding of flowr

Wed 10 Cloudy this morning it rained in the

night as hard as I ever heard it it lightned

and thundred hard Father started to the

town named Chicaugo this morning with

four barels of flowr and one hundred

and ten dosens of eggs and two hundred

pounds of bacon and twenty eight bounds

of butter I plowed some rained too hard

the sun shoen out some two or three times

in the evening it clouded up and thundred
