Thu 21 Clear this morning quite cool and windy

but got cloudy and rained some of the

time I set out my bed of oniones 1840

Fri 22 Clear this morning quite pleasant I

drawd 11. loads of rails 38 at a load

quite nice all dday I unyoked my oxen

Sat 23 Cloudy this morning and raining some

but got clear and nice for a while then it

got cloudy and rained some I drowd four

loads of rails 40 at a load till noon in

the after noon I helped E. Timmons to

spay four shoats I plowed some of my garden

Sun 24 Cloudy this morning and rained some

it broke away and got some pleasanter

I went to meeting and at four oclock

I went to meeting again it rained some

before night again after night I went

to Mr. Genings to prayr meeting

and comming home I got lost it did

rain very hard tremendiously dark

Mon 25 Cloudy this morning and raining

some three or four times in the day

I planted 19 rows of potatoes and finish

setting out my onions the sun shoen

out some of the time Harmon

Tue 26 Cloudy this morning and raining

some and continued so all day I built

fence part of the day it rained all

day quite smart Harmon R Lucas

Wed 27 Cloudy this morning and rained till

noon in the after noon it broke away

I haled stakes till noon in the after

noon I laid up fence I got 90 pannels

up after night I went to a school

meeting we got 14 dollars made up

Wed 29 Clear this morning and had the appearance

of a fine day some considerable warmer

than it has been for some two or three days

past it got some cloudy and rained som

I went to Mill in the fore noon in

the after noon I grubed Father came

home from Chicogo he got ten bushels of

potatoes at fifteen cents per bushels and one

barel of green aples at seven dollars per

barel and six bolts of factry cotten at

eight cts per yard he stored up his butter

for to be sold at the rise of the market

Thu 30 Clear this morning and quite pleasant

it turned quite warm it continued prety nice

till late in the evening then it clouded up

I groubed till four O clock in the evening

then I went over to Timmons to thear

brother Springer triy to preach after

the meeting I went after a cow that

Father had bought of John Mahen

he gave him eighteen Dollars for her

Fri 31 Some cloudy but soon broke away and got clear

with the exception of a few flying clouds

it continued in that position till late in the

evening it clouded up and sprinkled some

of rain Father went down to Laffayette

I groubed bresh Michel Dunfee he also

groubed for us too after night what do you

think hapned with Mrs. Yarnold now

I.ll enter in with a brief detail of what

hapned well it has been for nearly ten

years since she had an hair before and at

this timi she has a fine large sone on

which its name is Yarnold Aaron

I never expected such would ever come too

pass on this earth again I think that

Yarnold is very proud of it which noe

dought is I would bee if it was my case

I asertained that said Yarnold was

nearly sceard to death which mow douth

was the case with him for noe wonder

it blowed Desperately hard I worke

for Jacob Klepinger and after

night went to Sollomon Bests

and it stormed quite hard 1839

Wed 23 clear and continud so all day after

night I went to meting I worked

for JacB Klepinger I went home

with H. B. their was 20 out

Thu 24 clear this morning I worked for

Jacob Klepinger after night

Mahen and the wife caame to Jacob

Fri 25 cloudy and snowing and raining

som all day after noon it rained

quite hard I finished my work

clear I and David and Samuel

Klepinger had the most fun with

a little calf it would make at us

as hard as it could I got it of

Wm. Burch Feelden Clevenger

had a child to depart this life.

Sun 27 clear this morning Mr. Wood

preached at Salem meeting house

after meeting I went to the baering

then to Mr. Barnards to meeting

Mr. Cook preached their was

eight or ten Joined meeting 1839

Mon 28 cloudy this morning it snowed

ritet smart all day I worked

for John Graves till three O

clock it comtined to storm so Bad

that quit and went home 1839
