December the 6 th. 1835 in
Tippacanoe County Indiana

John Rogers Lucas was born
December the 5 th. 1837 in
Tippacanoe County Iindiana

The Deaths of my Brothers and
Sisters which Departeed there lives
some in Ohio and some in Indiana

Hester Ann Lucas Departed this life
July the 29 th. 1822 aged 1 year 8 month

Francis Asbury Lucas Departed this
life September the 4 th. 1822 aged
Six months and 22 days

Emily Francis Lucas Departed this
life July the 21 st. 1827 aged one
year 3 months 1 day

Benjamin Josiah Lucas deeparted
this life July the 11 th. 1829 aged one
year 3 months 29 days

Susan Brown Lucas Departed this
life august 18 th 1837 aged 7 years
8 months 3 days

Katharin Elizabeth Departed this
life the 19 of august 1837 aged one
year 8 months 12 days

Four of the former was buried in
the state of Ohio Muskigum County
Two of the latter was buried in
the state of Indiana Tippacane
County Tippacanoe Township
This I wrote on the 10 of September

Sun 12 Cloudy this morning and rained
quite hard after night it ceased at haf
past nine oclock I went to love feast
was intermishen the space of 15 minuets
then publick preaching Maria and
Venatta Patterson Wm Klepinger
and Samuel Klepinger too at 5
oclock we went to meeting again
it lasted till in the night it got
clear before night rite smart out to
day .S. Klepinger staid all night

Mon 13 Clear this morning quite pleasant
with the exception of a heavy frost
it has the appearance of being a
fine day I got up some wood and
at eleven oclock I went to the
meeting again Elizabeth Patterson
and John grooms at night I went
to meeting again Wm Campbell
preached at night on this ocation
quite a favorable meeting it broke
at 12 oclock after meting it
rained quite hard no more 1840

Tue 14 Cloudy this morning and it
rained some little it has the
appearance of continuing to hold
out it soon quit and got clear
I cut some timber for rails after
night I went to meeting again
house full quite a good meeting
I heard the whipper wills 1840

Wed 15 Clear this morning with a havy
frost on I went up to Jacob Klepinge
and Pulver worked out taw days
it got some cloudy in the evening
I groubed some of the time and
some of the time I made stakes
we got to talking on politicks
but we Dident hit to gether
on the subject at all no not

Sat 15 Cloudy this morning quite cool and rough it
turned out quite nice we had a pleasant
little visit at aunts I staid all night at
Thomas Smiths Harmon R Lucas

Sun 16 Clear this morning with a heavy frost
on quite pleasant at half past ten oclock
I went to meeting and at three oclock
I went over to the prisbtarions with a
young and fine girl I felt quite unwell
to day Elizabeth . Walker departed this
life to day at 12 oclock in her sixtieth
year complained 6 days before she died s
I staid all night at aunts no more at

Mon 17 Cloudy this morning and has some appearance
of rain or snow I went to the buring
of Elizabeth Walker she was bared on
Ivenses farm in the evening it rained
some I staid all night at Thomas Smiths

Tue 18 Cloudy this morning and looks like raine
after night I went to Temperance
meeting and then back and staid all night
at Thomas . Smiths 1840 no more at

Wed 19 Clear this morning and looks fine and
it continued to hold out I Receined three
letters one from home the other from Wm
Lucas and the the tother one from Mary
Carter price of them was. 35. cts I
staid all night at Thomas Smiths 1840

Thu 20 Cloudy this morning and raining and it
continued to rain all day quite muddy and
bad after night I staid all night at T
Smith Ruth . Baismen was there too dr

Fri 21 Clear this morning quite warm and
pleasant at this time the mud is not so
bad as it has been it was a nice day in the
evening it got some cloudy and looked like
rain I staid all night at aunts in
the year of our lord and saviour
