Wed 1 Clear this morning quite cool we
had a cow to be swamped down in
the mud I fixed my House it got
some cloudy in the evening Harmon
Thu 2 Clear this morning the cow died
I fixed my house up I bought my
a pair of bed steds and table for
2.7 bushels of corn to be delivered
at Wm. Simses quite pleasant all
day I slept in the kitchen for the
first time 1840 Harmon Lucas
Fri 3 Clear this morning quite pleasant
with a frost on quite pleasant in the
evening it got some cloudy and
after night it rained some I cut
down six large rails trees 1840
Sat 4 Clear this morning with some frost
I went down home and I came back
home against 2 oclock P.M and
went down to Hiram Genings
then home again so no more at
Sun 5 Clear this morning at 11 oclock
I went to meeting and at four
oclock I went to meeting again
at Salem Meeting house I
went over to Mendenhalls awhile
it turned in to raining it thundrd
rite smart in th evening 1840
Mon 6 Cloudy this morning and raining
some and has the appearance of holding
out all day I went up to Wm Shigl
to get my table I went to Harison
Ville to the election the sun shoen out
Mr Genings and Mr. Hays
traded horses even up after night
I went up to Isaas Klepingers
set up but was enoug with out us
so david Klepinger and me came
