Page 21 - August 8, 1838 - McVey Funeral

August the .8. 1838 21

Wed 8 clear and butiful this morning quite
pleasent some cooler than it has been for
some time past in a little time it cloude
up and in the afternoon it raind some
considerable I put up hay till the rain

Thu 9 cloudy this morning at six .O. clock it
commenced to rain rite smart with
some distent thundrig in the west and
Parah Mcvey was burried to day at
four .O. clock it continued thundring
all day in the evening about dark it
commenced raining with heavy flashes
of lightning and thundring I put up
hay in the afternoon quite warm yes

Fri 10 clear and pleasent this morning at twelve
.O. clock there is a few flying clouds not
quite as sweltry as it was yesterday I
bound up oats John Graves bought a
mare at constable sale for fifty cents
of Sollomond Best so no more on

Sat 11 some few flying clouds this morning
quite warm all day I bound oats to day

Sun 12 clear and very pleasen this morning and
continued so all day I went to Mr. Patterson
to hear Dr Law preach but got very much
disappointed Michel Hair took tis stead
at four in the evening I went to hear Mr.
Emry exhort at the meeting hous noe

Mon 13 some cloudy this morning but broke away
the sun showen out at one .O. clock it
commenced raining about three .O. clock
it broke I drawd hay and stocked it no

Tue 14 clear with the exception of a few flying
clouds quite cool this morning it raind a
little in the after noon at night it
began to rain right hard and raind
all night I cradled oats all day
