Sat 1 quit smokey and cloudy at ten it snowed
a little I went over to the canall to get som
money but in vein so no more at present
Sun 2 clear this morning quite cool at eleven O. clock
I went to meeting over at Salem meeting
house to hear Mr. Wood preach their was
considerable out to day I parted with my
watch to David Klepinger for ten Dollars
and fifty ctts I went down to Mr. Simses
school house to hear Mr. Wood preach
Mon 3 partly clear all day Father went over
to mill over the river I went and picked
out suitable timber for making rails
for Silas Colbert and in the evening
I went out and killed three praire hens
Tue 4 cloudy this morning and has the appear
of rain or snow Mr. Barnes commencd
his school on the third of December 1838
I killed two praier hens in the day
it snowed some and sleted some it
rained some in the evening I drowed
stove wood for the meeting house and
Father came hom from mill at
noon with 26 Bushels of mele and
a flower so man at present 1838
Wed 5 cloudy all day it snowed some in the
morning I went over to the canall to get
some money but in vain I got their
dew Bill which cald for fourteen Dollars
and six cts Robert hogens was there
with mee I went to meeting at night

promised to pay Mr Slick the sum of
