November the 12. 1838 Page 33

Mon 12 cloudy and rained a little quite warme
Mr. Mendenhall bought a barrel
of salt he paid one dollar and a quart
down it broke away some but rained
sevrel times through the day in the
evening it rained hard I gethered two
loads of corne Wm Simes signed five
Dollars and paid it down Adam Best
signed 2.50 cents Jacob Klepinger signed
and paid one dollar Benjamin Enoch
Wood paid one dollar Wm Burch paid
one dollar and eighty cents Benjamine
Burch signed one dollar and thirty one
James W Ireland signed 3.00 dollars
Benjamin Lucas signed one dollar
Eligah Timmons signed one dollar

Tue 13 some broken wind blows quite hard at
present it turned quite cold it was
partly clear all day I helped to gether
three loads of corne Mr. Mendenhall
helped us gether all day so ends the

Wed 14 tollerable pleasent to day I gethered
corn Mr. Mendenhall and me gethered
four loads of corn it clouded up late in
the evening after dark it rained some
I went over to Salem meeten house to
prayr meeting it was rather intended
for the purpose of letting out the
stove for to be keped up warm and
the house cleand and candles to be
found to be for one year Benjamine
Lucas under took it for six Dollars

Thu 15 sprinkled some this morning it was
cloudy all day and desperate cool all day
I gethered or drawed fodder for John grave

Fri 16 clear this morning and quite cool it was
cold all day it snowed all the after
noon I went and found my colts over
to moatses creek amen to me c 1838
