October the 31. 1839 Page 92

Thu 31 Clear this morning quite pleasant we
gethered five loads of corn this makes
nine loads this makes the last day of the

Fri 1 Cloudy this morning quite cool the sun
shoen out some of the time I went to a
fine Exibition quite funy there was a
great meny out at it our tow girls and a
girl by the name of Luesa pulver went

Sat 2 Cloudy this morning I cleaned up 15
bushels of oats and up to fix fence I
killed 2 hens Father went to mull and got or

Sun 3 Cloudy this morning and cool I went
to Salem meeting house to a prayr
meeting after night I went to H.
Genings to meetnig the sun shoen out
some two or three times no more 1839

Mon 4 Clear this morning till nearly noon
then it got some cloudy and smokey at
dark it began to blow and rain quite cool
Father and Mother went on a visit to
Jacob Klepingers I puled two loads of
corn in the fore noon I puled it down in
the after noon I drowed it in after
night it rained hard 1839 H. Lucas

Tue 5 Cloudy this morning and raining some
by turns all day I husked corn a while
then I came in and wrote a while after
night it snowd one inch in depth 1839

Wed 6 Cloudy this morning and snowing som
by turns till nearly noon I went
out and killed one dosen of praire
hens I killed 3 at one shot I got hom
at noon in the after noon I drowd wood
it broke away som 1839 no more at
