March the 17. 1839 Page 55

Sun 17 Cloudy this morning and raining
lightly tolerable warm it cleard off
quit pleasent I went to Calhoons
school house to singing school and
after night I went to Salem metig
house after night It rained quite
hard it lightnad and thunared some


Mon 18 Cloudy and a raining some little
and still continud to rain it rained
off and on all day I went to Klepinge
sugar camp it lightned and thundred
quite hard some hard cracks and

Tue 19 Clear this morning and quite
pleasent all day I worked for John
graves all day so noe more Rembrs

Wed 20 Cloudy this morning and a raining
some and it held out very well all
day I helped Mr. Mendenhall to
raise his house he dident finish his
house in one day so he quit 1839

Thu 21 Cloudy this morning and looks like
we might have snow quite coald I
went again to help Mr. Mendenhall
finish his house after we finished
we helped Timmons rowl logs.

Fri 22 Clear this morning it staid partly
clear all day the ground was froze
with a heavy frost it got quite
warm I worked for John graves

Sat 23 Clear this morning I went to Lafayette
then back to election at servisons I
voted for Jese L watson then I
went to singing school at calhoons
school house I got one paper and a
half pound of powder and one
pound of lead so this finishes
the chapter L. L. D harmon L
