September the 7. 1839 Page 84

Sat 7 Cloudy this morning at 8 or 9 Oclock
it began to rain and it continued to
rain till one it then broke away and in
the evening late it got clear I killed
2 squirls s and helped some at the camp
ground no more at this time 1839 H

Sun 8 Cloudy this morning and has the
appearance of rain it rained nearly
all day I rode on hunt of my calvs
but no find them 1839 H. Lucas

Mon 9 Clear this morning but soon clouded
up and rained some but in the evening
it got clear and cool I killed my
beef she weighed 4. 45 pounds she
came to 18 dollars I got her for 13 dollars

Tue 10 Clear this morning quite cool wind north
it got e som few clouds over us I plowed in
the foller ground all day no more at this

Wed. 11. Clear this morning quite cool I went and
helped Jacob Klepinger kill his beef
and in the after noon I thrashed one flowre
of oats in the evening it got som cloudy
and looked like rain it weighe 3. 22

Thu 12 Cloudy this morning quite cool I went
to Lafayette I took two barles of salt
I sold one barel for 7. 75 cts 3. 10 pounds
and one for 7. 50. weight 2. 90 pounds
I sold the hide for 2. 46 cts I got me a
pair of pants 4. 00 50 cts worth of
medison I got a letter from Wm
Lucas Dated august the 22. 1839 I
paid Andrews 16 dollar the tailors
7. 50 cts 1839 ana I came home after
night I feched a calf from town
