Sun 23 clear and quite coald morning meeting

commenced at nine O. clock at noon

Wm groomes and wife and daughter

and Elvila and Gearge pierce and

Wm Simes and wife James Servison

and wife and James pierce all ate diner

meeting ended at nine O. clock and

Wm grooms and wife and daughter and

Micheh Hair staid with us 1838

Mon 24 clear this morning I sent my not with

Hair which I held against Fraisure

and company I cut some rail timber

and after night it snowed som

Tue 25 cloudy this morning Father went

down to James pierces after oats

I drawed wood father got hom with 58

Bushels I done nothing of eny conciquen

it snowed som in the evening H R

Wed 26 clear this morning and quite coald and

Father started up to Logans port

I done nothing all day after night

I went over to Salem meeting house

in the evening it had the appearanc

of snow late in the evening 1838

Thu 27 Cloudy this morning but broke a

way and turned out quit nice I

shot five hogs for old Mr. Shigley

I made a sled two quite pleasent

Fri 28 cloudy this morning at eleven O clock

it snowed I drawed wood over to the

Meeting house John G Smith got

insualed at somthing or other at

night thier was ingin school at Salem

thiir was 20 out I kiled one praire hen

Am I a soldier of the cross a folower

of the lamb and shall I fear to on

his cause or blush to speak ahis nam

and must this feeble body faint
