Page 80 - August 11, 1839 - Ready to Start

August the 11. 1839 . Pag. 80.

Sun 11 Cloudy this morning and raining it
rained very hard withe heavy thundr
and lightning quite cool it has the appear
ance of contingung to hold out the day
but soon broke away the sun shoen
out I fixed up and started to meeting
but was none I went on to James K
and started back to meeting and got
back as far as J. Servisons and it
came up a terible storm with a heavy
thunder and sharp flashes of lightning
accompaned with wind and rain I staid
all night at servison 1839 2.00000

Mon 12 Clear this morning and pleasant I
went to Wm Robisons and got me
a yoke of cattle and I bought 28
sacks of John Rowls for 22 cts each
and got home at one oclock in the
after noon I went and got my waggon

Tue 13 Clear this morning quite pleasant
I thrashed 30 bushels all day no mer

Wed 14 Clear this morning quite pleasant
all day I claned up 30 bushels of oats
and in the evening I went down to
Wm Robisons on my Journey to
Chicago I started withe 65 bushels
of ats I staled 5 times before I got down

Thu 15 Clear this morning quite pleasant
I had to com back after a yoke of cattle
of Klepingers we got back in the
evening we made the calculation to
wait till sat 17. 1839 I fixed in my
tiing in the waggon I came home

Fri 16 Clear this morning quite pleasant
I bound up oats and stacked them
at four I started back to Wm
Robisons to mak ready to start to
chicago the next morning 1839
