Page 22 - August 15, 1838 - Campmeeting

22 August the .15. 1838

Wed 15 it is a raining this morning right hard
it looks like it will rain all day at
this time in a few minuets it broke
away fifteen minuets before six O. clock
in the evening it raind a terriable
shower some thundring I done nothing
of enny conciquence all day long

Thu 16 at sun rise it was cloudy but in a few
minuets it broke away and got clear as
it could be wind north it was a few
flying clouds at dark it began to cloud
up and thunder and lightning quite hard
and began to rain I cradled oats and bran

Fri 17 clear this morning with the exception
of a heavy fog at seven .O. clock father
started to camp meeting on shonney quit
warm it looks like that we will have
a fine time for the camp meeting I
went down to the store and got me
a hat at 5 dollars and fifty cents

Sat 18 clear and pleasent all day I went
to camp meeting and stopped at
Harvey Streaches and found them
all well was none Joind a tall

Sun 19 some cloudy and thundred a little in
the morning it soon broke away
and continued so all day there was
considerable out to day Susan graves
went in the after noon I dident goe
back to the ground at night a tall

Mon 20 clear this morning I started home from
Harvy Straches at seven .O. clock quit
warm and got home at ten O. clock
at three .O. clock it came up a cloud
from the East and thundred some
and raind a little sprinkle and now
it looks father came hom from
campmeeting from Shoney 1838
