Page 89 - October 8, 1839 - Crane Season

October the 8. 1839 Page. .89. .

Tue 8 Cloudy this morning quite warm I got
ready to start back hom against ten oclock
and got home at six in the evening with
five stears and I was quite tired out too 1839

Wed 9 Clear this morning quite pleasant I
got my calves up and husked some corne.

Thu 10 quite foggy this morning it got clear and
desperate warm I went to Lafayeett I
put two letters in the office one for Wm
Lucas and the other for I know hoo and
James pattersons wife had a quilten bee.

Fri 11 Cloudy this morning I killed one crain 85
steps off hand flying it rained nearly all
day I wrote nearly all day in the after noon
I went out after Joshua Burches waggon
and thee sun set clear and nice 1839 .16

Sat 12 Clear this morning for a while but soon
got cloudy and looked like rain I got
two loads of corn I killed on crain 21
yards off quite pleasant Aaron Yarnold
came hom from Chicago Harmon Luc

Sun 13 Clear this morning I went to E. patters
to Meeting in the evening I got to bra
ke my colt no nore at this tim 1839

Mon 14 Clear this morning with a fog on I
got in two loads of corn Samul Pulver
got 25 bushels of corn at 12 cts per
bushel gand got one load for lown 1839

Tue 15 Clear this morning with a frost on quite
cool it turned quite warm I went to Laffayete
with a load of corn I only got 20 cts a
bushel for a pair of saddle bags and got
25 cts worth of goods I traded with Mr.
genins I sold 2 bushels for apels one
bushels for tins 1839 Harmon Lucas
