Tue 6 Very smoky and some cloudy and cool it
continued cool till in the after noon then
began to snow desprately hard it got harder
and harder till night then it paused a while
then it commenced hard night I went to
help Mr. Benjamin Burch to raise a
smoke house and stable the names

so all day very smokey and tollrable
warm rain for the tim I cut logs for a

sun shoen out nice it was broken all
day I husked one load of corn by my
self father came home from court

Fri 9 clear and pleasent this morning it was
considerable warmer than it was yester
at noon at clouded up and got deperately
cold I gethered one load of corn I killed
two praire hens at two shots 1838

Sat 10 clear this morning as it could be it
clouded up in the after noon I cut wood
this makes fiften loads of corne

Sun cloudy this morning it snowed some
in the morning I went over to hunt
my coalls and at eleven O. clock
I wnt over to Salem meeting house
to hear Selkelk preach how
the mew preache cam on to day
